Lee McGroarty Investigation Request in Daily Bulletin Article
Earlier today we posted a story about 42nd Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty requesting that the San Bernardino County District Attorney investigate Rep. Gary Miller.
The Daily Bulletin has posted an article about the request and the allegations.
McGroarty's allegation centers around earmarks Miller requested for two nonprofit organizations with ties to a campaign contributor.
The article points out the organizations have sites in the 42nd district and that other Members of Congress, from both political parties, co-sponsored the earmark requests with Miller.
Miller called the accusations by McGroarty "petty" and "childish." He went on to say, "If he wants to run to the newspaper like a little girl then go ahead. He's lucky I'm a politician or I'd sue."

In 1997 there was a movie that was called Wag the Dog. The premise was a President trying to distract the public from his personal problems by trying to focus them on something else.
Yesterday we reported that 42nd Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty is being investigated by the Federal Election Commission for possible violations of the federal election code. Later in the day we reported that McGroarty had the business entity's for two of his corporations suspended by the State.
Later yesterday evening the McGroarty campaign posted a comment on his web site calling for Rep. Gary Miller to be investigated. He claims his campaign has "pieced together records, articles and actual events and have taken their case to the District Attorney’s office, asking that the possible “corruption” come to an end." McGroarty believes that Miller is someone how tied to an ongoing investigation in San Bernardino County.
It is funny that McGroarty thinks he has found something as a private citizen leading his own investigation that the Office of San Bernardino County DA Mike Ramos couldn't find over the past few years.
Seems like McGroarty was trying to find any thing he could to turn the attention from himself.

42nd Congressional candidate David Su may be about to receive national news coverage. We receive reports of the visitors that read our blog. We receive information including Service Providers and if they use a search engine, what they were searching for that brought them to our site.

Lee McGroarty has Business Entity's Suspended; Loses "rights, powers and privileges to conduct business in California."
Earlier today we posted that the Federal Election Commission is investigating the 42nd Congressional campaign of Lee McGroarty for possible federal campaign law violations. We were made aware of the investigation by the McGroarty campaign who posted the complaint, and their response, on their website.
While looking at the attachments to the complaint, specifically attachment 1 and 2, I noticed that the "Business Entity Form" listed McGroarty's corporations as being "suspended." McGroarty owns the corporations RetireAmerica Corporation and 401 (k) Administrators Inc.
I went to the Secretary of State web site to look it up and see what "suspended" meant in this context. I searched for RetireAmerica and 401 (k) Administrators. It brought up both listings, one had "Leon P McGroarty" as the "agent for service of process," the other listed "Lee McGroarty." Both said, "suspended."

Lee McGroarty Posts FEC Filings, Still Breaking Pledge
For three months now we have been posting stories about Lee McGroarty breaking his signed pledge to post ALL campaign donations online. The pledge was signed by McGroarty as part of receiving the endorsement of the Conservative Party of California.
The Conservative Party came to his defense this week claiming McGroarty needed to hire more staff before he could post the list of donors.
With in a few hours of the Conservative party's comment McGroarty posted a copy of his FEC filings on his campaign web site, but still is not listing all of his donations. The FEC requires candidates to list all donations over $200 combined for an election cycle from one person. But posting the FEC forms does not give us the names of those who gave $199 or less.

We are still relevant...claims SB Co. Dem Party
Tomorrow in the Daily Bulletin there is going to be an article about a local meeting of Democratic candidates who are running for San Berdoo County offices and are sad that they won't get elected.Assemblywoman Norma Torres, a member of the Democratic brain trust in Sacramento fired up the crowd in Rancho Cucamonga. "We don't want to just register Democrats, we want to be the Democrat in charge," Torres said. "We are the majority, not them. Let's exercise our muscle.
What a brilliant insight and wonderful grammar. You so good for California!
Ron Wall, Richard Galvez, and the other members of the local brain trust running for County Supervisor certainly sound like a bunch that will be on the losing end of Election Day. Thankfully for our County, State, and Nation the Democratic Party is on the opposite end of public opinion. Their tyranny of taxation, government intervention in our personal lives, and anti-capitalistic actions are closely being watched by the voters.
Norma Torres, Gloria Negrete McLeod, and other local elected Democrats have made us less safe by voting to allow criminals out of prison early. Thanks!

Update:Conservative Party of California comments on Lee McGroarty Broken Campaign Pledge
We received a comment claiming to be H. Michael Hervey, President of the Conservative Party of California, commenting on Lee McGroarty breaking his Conservative Party pledge to post all campaign donations online. The IP address used to post the comment seems to confirm it is legit. It can be found below.
What is funny is that it claims McGroarty has complied with the "Spirit of the Pledge," but will adhere to the "Letter of the Pledge," once he adds more staff. It took us less than 10 minutes to post all of his donations that he reported to the FEC, but he needs to hire staff to add that information. We first pointed out this broken pledge nearly three months ago but apparently no one involved in the campaign can find 15 minutes to post the donations. I guess the Liberatore campaign is worse off than we thought because apparently they have not been able to find any campaign volunteers.
Also, how did he comply with the "Spirit of the Pledge," if he hasn't posted anything? The pledge is to post all donations online, so it is pretty straightforward.

Rep. Gary Miller on Radio with Ads
Just heard a Rep. Gary Miller ad on KKLA making him the second 42nd Congressional candidate to have radio ads. Phil Liberatore has been running radio ads for a few weeks and has been running television ads since last week.
The ad highlighted some of the awards Miller has received from conservative organizations.
I would usually attempt to link to the ad but Miller doesn't have a campaign web site.
Update: Rep. Miller is listed under the advertiser list so he may have been running the ads for awhile before I noticed. Who knows but I doubt they added it to the list at the same time I heard it.
Update #2: A comment posted by Frank the Tank claims the ads started today. Frank claims to have called the radio station to find out. We don't know who Frank is so we don't know if that information is accurate or not.

Lee McGroarty still not listing Campaign Donations
It has been more than a week since we posted about Lee McGroarty's broken campaign pledge for the second time, and he has not yet posted the list of his campaign donors. McGroarty is challenging Rep. Gary Miller, Phil Liberatore and David Su for the Republican nomination in the 42nd Congressional district.
When McGroarty was endorsed by the Conservative Party of California in February he signed a pledge that included, "to post all donations on my website."
The California Party of California's website states it "was created to rectify the consistent failures and corruption of the current two-party system. CPUSA will impose fiscal discipline, restrain the reach of the federal government as outlined in the Constitution and retain America’s traditional family values." The president of Conservative Party USA and Conservative Party California is Harold M. Hervey.
It may have been an oversight originally, but we have now posted a story about it twice. Once in February, and the other over a week ago. Every IP address that has commented on this blog as Lee McGroarty or the McGroarty campaign has been to the blog to read the story from last week and the one in February. So, McGroarty and his campaign are aware that they have broken the pledge.

Statement on Phil Liberatore's FEC Filing
This week we posted twice that the Phil Liberatore Campaign filed their FEC filing electronically with the FEC on April 19. That date is late, so we reported that they may be subject to a fine.
Today we received the following statement.

I am the campaign treasurer for the Liberatore for Congress Committee. I hereby inform you that our filing was submitted on-time and in compliance with FEC regulations and Federal law. We filed an electronic disk by overnight mail prior to the 11:59 pm EST 4/15/10 deadline, and filed again with the Electronic Filing Office on 4/19/10 for the convenience our FEC analyst Stephanie Shaw. Any statement to the contrary is erroneous and I must assume is made with malice toward my client. Please remove or amend your comments or I shall be forced to take legal action against this site for slander.

While we understand the concerns of the Liberatore campaign, the FEC site still shows April 19 at 16:04 as the filing stamp. If that changes we will post a full retraction and change all posts related to this matter. We are simply going off of the FEC data available to the public. We don't know that the Liberatore campaign mailed something in until it is received. We stated that the Liberatore filed electronically in our posts. That is an accurate statement, the Liberatore campaign filed electronically on the 19th. Ultimately the FEC decides fines based on their information, not us.
We have made sure that every post says "may" and "if."
Hopefully this post, and our side of the story, addresses their concerns.

While we understand the concerns of the Liberatore campaign, the FEC site still shows April 19 at 16:04 as the filing stamp. If that changes we will post a full retraction and change all posts related to this matter. We are simply going off of the FEC data available to the public. We don't know that the Liberatore campaign mailed something in until it is received. We stated that the Liberatore filed electronically in our posts. That is an accurate statement, the Liberatore campaign filed electronically on the 19th. Ultimately the FEC decides fines based on their information, not us.
We have made sure that every post says "may" and "if."
Hopefully this post, and our side of the story, addresses their concerns.

42nd Republican Primary FEC Review
All four candidates for the Republican primary in the 42nd Congressional district have now filed their fundraising totals with the FEC.
Rep. Gary Miller shows $1,053,383 cash on hand. During the 1st quarter he raised just under $400,000 and spent a little over $200,000.
Phil Liberatore raised $15,911, loaned his campaign $100,000 and spent $112,340. He has $3,570 cash on hand. Liberatore filed electronically four days late, so he may be facing a FEC fine. My understanding is that a fine is automatic since there are no exemptions for filing late.
Lee McGroarty raised $1700, loaned his campaign $8000, and spent $8179.32. He has 3070.77 cash on hand. His campaign now owes $27,030.16 in debt.
David Su raised $2151.43. He spent $1891.43 which leaves him with $260 cash on hand.

42nd Congressional candidate Phil Liberatore has filed his 1st quarter FEC forms four days late. His filing showed he raised $15,911, loaned his campaign $100,000 and spent $112,340. He has $3,570 cash on hand.

California Republican Assembly Endorses Rep. Gary Miller, Again
Last month we reported that the California Republican Assembly (CRA) had endorsed Rep. Gary Miller. Last night I noticed on Phil Liberatore's Twitter page that he had attended an event seeking the CRA's endorsement.
I called a CRA friend who said they did the 42nd Congressional district endorsement again for whatever reason. Miller, Liberatore and Lee McGroarty all spoke to the group and Miller received their endorsement again. My friend thought that Rep. Gary Miller's endorsement was unanimous. It had to be a blow to McGroarty and Liberatore not to get a single vote, if it was in fact unanimous.
Liberatore had the following to say on his Twitter page about it.

In February we reported that the Conservative Party of California had endorsed 42nd Republican Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty. As part of that endorsement McGroarty signed a pledge.
The beginning of the pledge reads, "I (Candidate) hereby agree to adhere to the following stipulations in order to gain the endorsement of and/or support from the Conservative Party (California), hereinafter referred to as PARTY. As a Candidate for elected Office, I pledge to:"
Line 5 of the pledge reads, "Accept funds or contributions only from individual US citizens and PAC’s or corporations or groups specifically approved by the PARTY. I will immediately disclose all contributions/donations to my PAC for review by the PARTY within 48 hours of receipt. If deemed not acceptable, all such funds will be returned to the contributors with explanation. I further pledge to post all donations on my website."
In February we pointed out that McGroarty did not have his campaign donations listed online as he pledged to do. Lee McGroarty himself replied to our post so he obviously read the story. Now, two months later he still refuses to list his campaign donations as he pledged.

As of 2:25pm, we are still waiting on 42nd Republican Congressional candidates Lee McGroarty and Phil Liberatore to file their 2010 1st Quarter fundraising totals. The deadline is 11:59pm EST (8:59 CA time) today. FEC forms are filed electronically and are available as soon as filed.

According to the Orange County Register's Total Buzz. Rep. Gary Miller appeared on Fox News this morning to discuss his efforts to stop children of illegal immigrants from receiving automatic birthright citizenship. They are commonly referred to as "anchor babies."
Last month, 42nd Republican Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty called bills dealing with the issue, including Miller's, "unconstitutional."

Update: Phil Liberatore at Yorba Linda Tea Party
42nd Congressional candidate Phil Liberatore will be appearing at the Yorba Linda Tea Party Rally today from 4:30-7:30pm. The campaign is providing a bus to take people to the rally. For more information call 714-310-3062.
I checked the online schedules this morning for the other three Republican candidates and it doesn't appear they are doing any events today.
Congress has votes today so Rep. Gary Miller is in Washington, D.C.

However, this time, I was surprised at the only change I found.
On his original 3rd quarter filing form McGroarty listed a September 29, 2009 $4800 donation from Ronald Day. His amended form now lists a September 29, 2009 $2400 donation from Ronald Day and $2400 from Joan Day.
So, seven months after the donation the McGroarty campaign is saying it came from two people, not one.
I called some people who know more about FEC filings than me. None had every heard of a campaign changing the name of the individual who gave a donation after reporting the donation to the FEC. One suggested this would surely draw the attention of the FEC.

OC Young Democrats Endorse Williamson, Fritchle, Uballe
According to the Liberal OC, the OC Young Democrats have made their endorsements.
In the 42nd Congressional race they endorsed Michael Williamson, who is unopposed in the Democratic primary. He is challenging Republican Rep. Gary Miller.
In the 60th Assembly race, lone Democrat Gregg Fritchle was endorsed. He hopes to defeat Republican Assemblyman Curt Hagman in November.
In the 72nd Assembly race Esiquio Ramos Uballe received their endorsement in his quest to defeat first term Republican Assemblyman Chris Norby. Uballe does not have a primary opponent.

Su Kick Off Event Cancelled
This morning we posted a story about 42nd Congressional candidate David Su's kick off event. I had mentioned that I thought joint events between Federal and State candidates were illegal but I must be wrong.

Hi Lucky,
In response to this, the event has been cancelled. I found out from, the FEC that state and federal candidates cannot hold joint fundraisers, therefore I will only be making a statement of my candidacy. This will be Alvaro's event and I will just be attending as a guest. I will not be accepting any contributions or solicit for any donations. The law is the law, and we have to respect it.

In response to this, the event has been cancelled. I found out from, the FEC that state and federal candidates cannot hold joint fundraisers, therefore I will only be making a statement of my candidacy. This will be Alvaro's event and I will just be attending as a guest. I will not be accepting any contributions or solicit for any donations. The law is the law, and we have to respect it.

Su Kick off event Friday
42nd Congressional Candidate David Su will have his kick off event this Friday, April 9 at 7pm. It will be in Pasadena at the Historic Green Hotel. Sorry, but there was no contact info on the event information.
Su will be hosting the event with State Assembly candidate Alvaro Day.
I thought that state and federal candidates couldn't host joint events any longer because federal laws were stricter than California law on who could donate to a campaign. Meaning the state candidate could pay for their part of the event with money a federal candidate couldn't accept. I guess I was wrong.

He is Risen
Matthew 28:1-10 (NIV)
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.

Lee McGroarty comments on $5700 paid to Erik Brown
On Tuesday we posted that 42nd Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty had paid Erik Brown $5700 during the 4th quarter of 2009 for services to his campaign. Brown is the owner of Dynamic Marketing Inc. He received media attention this week for seeking reimbursement from the Republican National Committee for nearly $2000 spent at a sex themed club.
The McGroarty campaign has now put out a statement.

Liberatore Hearing Tomorrow
42nd Congressional Candidate Phil Liberatore has a hearing tomorrow at 10:30 in Sacramento about his ballot designation. Secretary of State Debra Bowen wouldn't let Liberatore use the ballot designation "IRS Problem Solver," because he used the word IRS. Liberatore sued on Monday in an effort to use the designation.
Prediction: Liberatore Loses. "IRS" cannot be used and "Problem Solver," is not a job title. This case looks straight forward. I was surprised he would waste his money on lawyers to fight this case. But maybe he is doing it to get media attention.
Problem is the only major media to pick up the story, The Hill, thinks he is suing to use "IRS Problem Solver," instead of his name, "Phil Liberatore." Hilarious.

42nd Congressional Candidate Phil Liberatore sued the Secretary of State on Monday, after the Secretary rejected Liberatore's ballot designation of "IRS Problem Solver." Liberatore also operates a business by a similar name, IRS Problem Solvers.

However, when California's Democratic Secretary of State Deborah Bowen denied his requested ballot identification, IRS Problem Solver, Liberatore quickly realized he would have to face two opponents. On Monday, Liberatore punched back, filing a lawsuit against Bowen in state court in Sacramento demanding that he be allowed to use the name by which people in his district have come to know him.
"Like my opponent, Ms. Bowen is a career politician who doesn't want the voters to know that I battle the IRS on behalf of thousands of citizens. I am determined to beat my opponents in this race and go to Washington to fight against the IRS on behalf of taxpayers--while I'm there I will do everything to roll back the Obama health care plan and defund the 16,500 IRS agents he plans to hire to enforce it."

Several candidates for elected office including U.S. Senate candidate Assemblyman Chuck DeVore have admited using Brown's company but have severed ties since the story broke.

McGroarty calls bill reforming Birthright Citizenship "Unconstitutional"
42nd Congressional candidate Lee McGroarty recently updated the immigration section of his campaign web site. He removed several paragraphs discussing what to do with illegal aliens after sealing the border to allow them to stay in the country, which I call amnesty. He added several paragraphs criticizing Rep. Gary Miller for his efforts to ban children born to illegal immigrants from receiving automatic citizenship. These children are commonly referred to as "anchor babies."
According to Numbers USA there are three bills that have been introduced in Congress to reform Birthright Citizenship. Rep. Gary Miller is the sponsor of H.R. 994 the LEAVE Act, and co-sponsor of H.R. 1868.
Miller's bill has 15 co-sponsors including local Reps. John Campbell, David Dreier, Brian Bilbray, Buck McKeon and Dana Rohrabacher.
H.R. 1868, sponsored by Rep. Nathan Deal of Georgia, has 90 co-sponsors. The co-sponsors include Rep. Mike Pence (IN), who is third in House Republican leadership, and California Reps. Tom McClintock, John Campbell, Ed Royce, Darrell Issa, Dana Rohrabacher, Brian Bilbray, Ken Calvert, Duncan Hunter, Dan Lungren, Wally Herger and Buck McKeon.
McGroarty wrote, "He (Rep. Gary Miller) has sponsored what I consider to be an unconstitutional bill that would not allow citizenship to be conferred to anyone born here to parents who are here illegally. Some call these "anchor babies"."
McGroarty goes on to say, "Historically, our nation has always recognized citizenship to a person born on U.S. soil, regardless of the status of their parents. The reason we're talking about this issue is because it's become a serious problem. Yet, having a problem doesn't seem to me to be sufficient reason to start interpreting and applying the Constitution in a different fashion than we've done for hundreds of years. Political expediency is NEVER a reason to trample the Constitution."
Finally McGroarty says, "Congressman Miller is grandstanding on the wrong side of the Constitution with this bill."
George Will's column in the Daily Bulletin today (DB doesn't have the article online so I linked to Wash Post) discusses the birthright citizenship issue. Will wrote that reforming the 14th amendment would bring it "into conformity with what the authors of its text intended, and with common sense, thereby removing an incentive for illegal immigration."

David Su on the passage of the Health Care Bill
42nd Congressional candidate David Su has released a statement on the passage of the Health Care bill. We previously posted a short statement he posted on his facebook page last Friday.
Su and Rep. Gary Miller are the only 42nd Congressional candidates that have currently issued statements on the passage of the Health Care bill.

My take on this healthcare Bill, House Resolution 3962. I must say I was absolutely shocked, enraged, angry, and speechless by what I saw last night.
In the history of the United States, for the first time, I did not see democracy, I saw dictatorship in the so called, "Land of the Free." More than 60% of the American people did not want this bill to pass. I always thought America was suppose to be a nation where the will of the people dictated the outcome of everything, but I guess that changed last night. I am aganist the Healthcare Bill because of several reasons.
1.) It does not guarantee coverage for all Americans. It only covers 96% of America and President Obama stated that he was going to cover everyone since the beginning of this Presidency. So another broken promise, but this time to the 4% of Americans who will not have health insurance, that's 13.2 million people out of a population of approximately 330 million Americans.
2.) This bill will decrease the access to quality healthcare. Doctors and hospitals will be more overwhelmed, more over exerted, and the ratio of physicians to patients will double if not triple. As if there isn't a long enough wait time in our emergency rooms all across the nation, this will cause more and more complexity.
3.) What scares me the most, is the provisional clause called, "Individual Mandate" which I will break it down in a simple summarization. This clause clearly states, if you are an individual and you do not purchase health insurance based off the standards that the US Government sets, you will pay a fine of 1% of your annual gross income or $95.00 which ever is greater. If you don't pay that, you will succumb to a 2.5% tax penalty based off your annual gross income. If you don't pay that you can face prison time. So, if 13.2 million people who live in this country cannot afford health insurance, can they afford to pay these penalities? Are we going to put over 13 million people, if not more in federal prison because they cannot afford health insurance? This is not democracy, but dictatorship.
4.) The right to choose your physician and the decision whether you live or die will now be in the hands of the US Government. I know this may seem harsh, but this is reality. They will decide whether or not you will fight aganist a disease based off of putting a price tag on human life. Example 1, if your chances of surviving a treatment or to fight aganist a chronic ailment is low, the government can deny you treatment just like a private insurance can because that individual will cost too much money. But who is the government to tell people that they don't have the right to fight aganist a disease and do everything they can to live.
5.) $940 Billion dollars and in the next ten years, $1.5 trillion dollars in spending. Americans right now cannot simply afford this bill. This is not the solution to solve America's imperfect healthcare system. The taxes will skyrocket and hurt middle income class families. The economic consequences will be greatly negative.
I have the solution to reduce the cost of healthcare which I will post on a later date on my website. I know this is on everyone's minds and I have been thinking about this for the longest time as well. The moment the bill passed, I looked at my parents, my uncles and aunts as they will be greatly affected by this since they are part of the baby boomer generation. Billions of dollars being cut from medicaid and medicare.
Final Note: I am pro-life and a firm believer in protecting the sanctity of life not because I am a Republican, but because I am a servant of Christ. God states in the bible that abortion is murder and that it is a sin. President Barack Obama stated he is going to sign an executive order to make the language regarding not federally funding abortion stronger. I don't believe the president at this moment because he has broken too many promises and has gone back on too many deals. I feel he will overturn this and somehow, someway he will make abortion legal and open to being funded by the federal government.
This is a sad day in America and I feel that there will be more of this to come. I am urging all Americans to stand with me and pray. Pray that God will give the current leaders in this country some wisdom and make them realize what they are doing is going to cause more future human suffering and poverty.

My take on this healthcare Bill, House Resolution 3962. I must say I was absolutely shocked, enraged, angry, and speechless by what I saw last night.
In the history of the United States, for the first time, I did not see democracy, I saw dictatorship in the so called, "Land of the Free." More than 60% of the American people did not want this bill to pass. I always thought America was suppose to be a nation where the will of the people dictated the outcome of everything, but I guess that changed last night. I am aganist the Healthcare Bill because of several reasons.
1.) It does not guarantee coverage for all Americans. It only covers 96% of America and President Obama stated that he was going to cover everyone since the beginning of this Presidency. So another broken promise, but this time to the 4% of Americans who will not have health insurance, that's 13.2 million people out of a population of approximately 330 million Americans.
2.) This bill will decrease the access to quality healthcare. Doctors and hospitals will be more overwhelmed, more over exerted, and the ratio of physicians to patients will double if not triple. As if there isn't a long enough wait time in our emergency rooms all across the nation, this will cause more and more complexity.
3.) What scares me the most, is the provisional clause called, "Individual Mandate" which I will break it down in a simple summarization. This clause clearly states, if you are an individual and you do not purchase health insurance based off the standards that the US Government sets, you will pay a fine of 1% of your annual gross income or $95.00 which ever is greater. If you don't pay that, you will succumb to a 2.5% tax penalty based off your annual gross income. If you don't pay that you can face prison time. So, if 13.2 million people who live in this country cannot afford health insurance, can they afford to pay these penalities? Are we going to put over 13 million people, if not more in federal prison because they cannot afford health insurance? This is not democracy, but dictatorship.
4.) The right to choose your physician and the decision whether you live or die will now be in the hands of the US Government. I know this may seem harsh, but this is reality. They will decide whether or not you will fight aganist a disease based off of putting a price tag on human life. Example 1, if your chances of surviving a treatment or to fight aganist a chronic ailment is low, the government can deny you treatment just like a private insurance can because that individual will cost too much money. But who is the government to tell people that they don't have the right to fight aganist a disease and do everything they can to live.
5.) $940 Billion dollars and in the next ten years, $1.5 trillion dollars in spending. Americans right now cannot simply afford this bill. This is not the solution to solve America's imperfect healthcare system. The taxes will skyrocket and hurt middle income class families. The economic consequences will be greatly negative.
I have the solution to reduce the cost of healthcare which I will post on a later date on my website. I know this is on everyone's minds and I have been thinking about this for the longest time as well. The moment the bill passed, I looked at my parents, my uncles and aunts as they will be greatly affected by this since they are part of the baby boomer generation. Billions of dollars being cut from medicaid and medicare.
Final Note: I am pro-life and a firm believer in protecting the sanctity of life not because I am a Republican, but because I am a servant of Christ. God states in the bible that abortion is murder and that it is a sin. President Barack Obama stated he is going to sign an executive order to make the language regarding not federally funding abortion stronger. I don't believe the president at this moment because he has broken too many promises and has gone back on too many deals. I feel he will overturn this and somehow, someway he will make abortion legal and open to being funded by the federal government.
This is a sad day in America and I feel that there will be more of this to come. I am urging all Americans to stand with me and pray. Pray that God will give the current leaders in this country some wisdom and make them realize what they are doing is going to cause more future human suffering and poverty.

Dear Constituent:
Last night, the House of Representatives passed a government takeover of America’s health care system. I am writing today to explain why I opposed this legislation. This bill will place Americans’ health care decisions into the hands of government bureaucrats and imposes a host of new taxes and Medicare cuts.
Recognizing the extremely difficult procedural and political hurdles facing the health care bill should normal process be followed, the Congressional Democrat Leadership elected to utilize a rarely used parliamentary procedure known as reconciliation. Under the reconciliation process, a separate bill containing amendments to the Senate health care legislation would only need the votes of 51-members of the 100-member U.S. Senate in order to proceed. Traditionally, 60 Senators would need to vote for a measure to move through procedural hurdles. The reconciliation procedure is supposed to be limited to provisions that directly affect taxes and spending and to control the size of government. As you know, this bill will have the opposite affect by increasing taxes and the role of the federal government, which is why I strongly objected to the abuse of this process.
Despite modifications made, the fact remains that the final health care package adopted last evening creates 159 new boards, bureaucracies, and programs – including a new entitlement program – that will impact the quality of health care for every American. The cost of these new programs is expected to exceed $2.6 trillion once the bill’s provisions are fully implemented. To pay for this huge government expansion, the legislation raises $569.2 billion in new taxes over the next ten years. The package also makes $528.5 billion in cuts to Medicare, slashing Medicare Advantage by $202 billion, leaving seniors with reduced benefits and fewer choices. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office has determined that almost 5 million seniors will be denied access to an affordable Medicare Advantage plan because of the legislation. Furthermore, it should be noted that the bill contains unrelated provisions eliminating private lenders in the student loan market. Under the bill, all student loans will be originated by the Federal Direct Loan program, thereby establishing a one-size-fits-all government takeover that eliminates competition and consumer choice, and could result in the loss of 30,000 jobs nationwide.
Families and small-businesses deserve access to affordable, high-quality health coverage. While no one doubts that our current system is in need of improvement, any reforms must ensure that the federal government does not interfere in the doctor-patient relationship, raise the deficit, increase taxes, or cut Medicare benefits. It is unfortunate that common-sense reforms such as allowing Americans to purchase insurance across state lines, medical liability reform, and expanding high-risk pools and reinsurance programs to allow those with pre-existing conditions to access affordable health care were not incorporated into the legislation passed by the House.
Health care reform legislation must strike the right balance that builds on what works and fixes what is broken. Unfortunately, this deeply flawed bill will not only limit patient choice but will increase premiums by 10 to 13 percent. As your Representative, I will continue to demand that Congress halt this government intrusion between you and your doctor and end its excessive mandates on our nation’s job creators.

42nd Congressional Candidate Su on Health Care Bill
David Su, Republican candidate for Congress in the 42nd, wrote the following on his campaign's facebook page Friday.
Ok, so if you haven't heard from all over the news the Democrats, President Obama and his administration plans to push hard on passing a really awful piece of legislation that will change this nation for the worst forever. We are talking about giving the most control to government and removing more liberty from the individual than ever before. President Barack Obama stated, "This will be a Victory for the American People." I'm saying no Mr. President, this is a victory for bigger government telling us what to do and undermining the will of the American people. The President must realize we live in a democracy and we have to go with what the majority of the American people want. More than 60% of the people do not want this bill! End of story!
